Windows 10: Windows Server 2022 Essentials Activation Error

Hi,I bought a new Dell server with Windows Server 2022 Essentials licence. It came with the key for Windows Server 2022 Essentials.So, I found this article: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server-essentials/get-started/get-started, and here I can read the Note: With Windows Server 2022, the Essentials edition is available to purchase from OEMs only, however there is no specific installation media. Instead, an Essentials edition product key is used to activate the Standard edition of Windows Server 2022.So, I intalled using a Windows Server 2022 Standard ISO and it didn't as

Windows Server 2022 Essentials ISO not available

I recently purchased windows server 2022 essentials verison and have the product key.

But I cannot find a download ISO for windows server 2022 essentials version online on Microsofts website.

I can only find the download link for the version that contains the standard and the datacenter version.

Where should I download the essentials version from?

 

Windows Server 2016 Essentials - Activation Error 0x80024401c

On a fresh install of Server Essentials 2016 I am persistently receiving the same error message regarding product activation.

Error: 080072ee2

It appears to be a communication error running the activation.

Machine does have internet and firewall is off.

Additional Symptoms:

Windows Update fails with Error: 0x8024401c

Server Purchased Last week without OS.

OS info:

Microsoft Windows Server 2016 Essentials

10.0.14393 N/A Build 14393

System is the Primary Domain Controller

Steps Taken:

1. Confirmed and re-keyed product key.

2. SFC /scannow (no errors or corrupt files)

3. Turned off Firewall

4. Turned off Internet Explorer Enhances Security Configuration.

- Some sites recommended browsing to various Microsoft websites to confirm connectivity. These showed as blocked.

5. Reload of OS, repeat of steps

6. Ran the Windows update Diagnostic Tool

Results: First run had it fixing registry settings, but noted the Windows update database may be corrupt. Second run it did not fix

7. Ran commands to rebuild Windows update database (see Below)

8. Ran Crystaldiskinfo. No smart errors or warnings on drives.

Results:

No change in behaviours.

Commands to Rebuild:

net stop wuauserv

net stop cryptSvc

net stop bits

net stop msiserver

ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old

ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 catroot2.old

net start wuauserv

net start cryptSvc

net start bits

net start msiserver

NOTE: No errors except for the services that start manually. Those noted service not currently running.
