So I need another license and that's all well and good.However, I'd like to know how much longer the to-be-licensed-soon server will last.As per the above details.     Upgrade Windows Server 2012 R2 Eval to unlicensed Standard edition

    Good day to you.

    I'm hoping someone can help me. I have 4 machines in a server farm running Windows Server 2012 R2
    Eval editions. I would like to upgrade them to fully licensed Windows Server 2012 R2
    Standard editions.

    In the past we used to rent the Windows licenses from the same company that hosts the servers, but now they say they cannot upgrade the licenses because we are running Eval versions. They can only help us if we are running unlicensed Standard editions. They
    are also not able to provide us with the license keys for us to do it ourselves.

    Is there any way of converting the Eval versions to unlicensed Standard editions? After that I will ask our service provider to upgrade the unlicensed Standard editions to fully licensed editions.

    I am aware of the DISM command, but as far as I know DISM requires a license key, which we do not have. DISM /online /get-targeteditions does confirm we can upgrade to the ServerStandard edition.

    Also, reinstalling Windows from the ground up unfortunately is not an option.
