Windows 10: Windows Server 2025 Datacenter - Linkspeed of SET-VMSwitch vSwitch in Hyper-V

Name: Microsoft Windows Server 2025 DatacenterOS Version: 10.0.26100 N/A Build 26100LBFO is deprecated with Windows Server 2025. Activate Windows Server 2022 Datacenter on Hyper-V Host with Windows Server 2019 Datacenter

Hi!

I tried to aktivate a new VM on my Hyper-V Host.

The Hyper-V Host is a Windows Server 2019 DataCenter Core.

The new VM is a Windows Server 2022 DataCenter (with GUI).

For the activation by Host i use the AVMA-Key for Windows Server 2022 DataCenter but the Server couldn´t be activated with this key.

Why? Isn´t possible to use a WinSrv 2022 DC as guest on a WinSrv 2019 DC Host?

Hyper-V vSwitch "port" speed

I have a Server 2019 Hyper-V server and have a SET team of 6 10G NICs bound to an external vSwitch. I have created a vNIC on the management OS which creates a virtual NIC in the OS. It is my understanding that this is just like a "port" on a network
switch. My question is what speed is this port? I am going to use this vNIC for my VM traffic. I know that the VM traffic with be load balanced across the SET team but I would like to know if this single "port"/vNIC will be limited in bandwidth to 10G?

 

Hyper-V feature failing to start VMSwitch, looks like a broken driver?

I've been running docker on my computer for weeks, but yesterday my Hyper-V installation broke and docker fails to start. My computer was shut-off the previous night unexpectedly, so that might have been the cause. After digging in further Hyper-V manager
cant load the VM switch manager. The failed drivers seem to point to this isn't related to Docker at all as I've also completely uninstalled docker and am still getting errors. I can open Hyper-V Manager, but clicking on Virtual Switch Manager errors with
"An error occurred while trying to retrieve a list of virtual switches. The generic operation on computer 'XXX' failed: generic failure." I cant create VMs because VMSwitch is failing to start.

Event logs show the following

Warning (source Kernel-PnP): The driver \Driver\VMSP failed to load for the device ROOT\VMS_VSMP\0000.
Error (source Hyper-V-VmSwitch): Failed to initialize VMSwitch driver due to error {Operation Failed}

Removing and re-adding Hyper-V features (Turn Windows features on and off) did not do anything

Tried the command and it did not resolve the issue: netcfg -d

I'm on Windows 10 Enterprise 1809
