Windows 10: Windows Server Backup to multiple disks

hi currently have windows server backup running on an SBS 2019 machine that backs up the systems drives at two external disks USB 3 hard drive every night. It seems to have added successfully the two disks, and I can select it from the drop down box and its shown in the list of target disks, however when i select the second disk in disk usage used space is 0GB and 0 backups are available on itDo you know why is this happen thanks in advance

Did you enable full integration services on your VM's? Did you upgrade to the newest version of integrated services? (I still need to do that on my core)

What are the VM's? Are they windows-based? What is the CORE OS version?

I have seen those disk signature errors in logs before, but it hasn't usually been a problem. I do know that if you see that and a bunch of surprise removed entries it is because backup is isolating the data so that it can be backed up.

I've been running Windows Server Backup on my home server with approx 12 VM's for a while now without issue. Though my point of doing it was to expect issues because I've dealt with so many WSB issues in the field. You might check out Veeam Free for a good backup solution. Though when I tested it, it was MUCH slower to backup than WSB was.

Do these VM's have multiple VHD's connected?

Any other errors reported?

I was going by other advice and articles that suggest that backing up under Update and security/backup is now the way to go. I will try your suggestion.

Can't safely remove external disk

In reference to the steps of your suggestions:

• The issue is specific to the particular disk and it started after I've used the disk to save the System image backup (created with the Control Panel > File History tool).
• I didn't disable any windows Service. I'm just wondering if there is any to disable.
• Safe boot with networking, or clean boot doesn't resolve the issue.
