Windows 10: Windows Settings pops open when I type the letter R

When I type the letter (close the Settings window) R (close the Settings window) r(close the Settings window)egar(close the Settings window)dless [regardless] if it is capitalized or (close the Settings window) not, the Windows Setting menu pops open. I have to X out of it each time.


I have spent copious hours on this forum attempting various "solutions" to no avail -- (close the Settings window 3 times).

As one of the most used letters in the English language this is extremely frustrating -- (close the Settings window 4 times).

I am using a Logitech wireless keyboard with built in touch mouse -- (close the Settings window 2 times).

I have uninstalled the keyboard and driver multiple times -- (close the Settings window 3 times).

I attempted to call customer service and the call dropped after waiting 20 minutes for a tech --(close the Settings window 4 times).


Also typing the number 1 or exclamation point the computer logs me out and I have to put my PIN in again to continue -- (close the Settings window twice and PIN twice).


I purchased this computer last Friday, installed Office, and used it with no problem for 5 days. Then Windows 10 updates and my keyboard is possessed -- (close the Settings window 4 times and PIN once).


I've shut off anything to do with Typing, Narrator, and Sticky Keys -- (close the Settings window 3 times).

Type a letter

Open WordPad, which is the free word processor included in Windows 10.

Open Start

Scroll down to the letter 'W'

Expand 'Windows Accessories'

Open Wordpad

or

Press Windows key + R

Type: wordpad

Hit Enter

Type your letter

Click File > Save as

Give it a name.

Sorry for the delayed response.

I suggest you to check if ay Proxy connections are enabled. To do this, refer the following steps.

• Press Windows key + letter R to open Run window.
• Type "inetcpl.cpl" and hit OK.
• Go to the Connections tab.
• Select LAN settings.
• Uncheck the Proxy connections.
• Apply settings and check if the issue persists.
