Windows 10: Windows setup not seeing my storage drive.

Trying to do a fresh install on a laptop of mine that only has a nvme drive. When the installer gets to the point where you would select a partition, I'm not getting any choices. Researching this suggests loading up diskpart and mounting the disk, but when I do a `list disk` in diskpart, the ssd doesn't even show up there. I booted up Hiren’s BootCD PE to look at a few things, and when I go into the diskpart on the PE, the SSD shows and I can format it and whatever else. What would cause the windows setup to not read the SSD, or where can I look for the proper storage drivers?

How to remove a bad drive in Windows 10 storage spaces pool

Could someone list the steps involved in replacing a bad drive from a Windows 10 storage spaces pool? I cannot find any info on the Microsoft support site that is specific to Windows 10. Also, could you list the steps to remove a 'good' drive and replace
it with another drive if the process is different?

 

Hard drive/ OS issue

I suggest you to update Storage controller drivers and check if it helps.

Steps 1:

• 
  Press Windows key + X.
  
• 
  Select Device manager.
  
• 
  Expand Storage controller.
  
• 
  Right click on the driver and Update the drivers.
  

Steps 2: Windows 10 has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with hardware and devices. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter to check if the issue
is with device. Refer these steps:

  Press Windows key +X, select Control panel.
  
• 
  Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons.
  
• 
  Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel.
  
• 
  Run the Hardware and devices troubleshooter.
