Windows 10: Windows + Shift + S - after selecting snip, freezes the user

Hello,

As in the title:

Windows + Shift + S , I select the snipping area (tried the full screen option also), the image freezes. Video works in background, everything seems to be working fine, just the image frozen.

CTRL + ALT + DEL works, but the task manager is not opening, I can't click on anything.
I can switch users from CTRL + ALT + DEL. The other user is working fine. When I switch back, the screen is locked, as before the snip.

If I log out the current user, I can relog with it and all is well.

I tried WIN + CTRL + SHIFT + B, it restarts the video card, but it's still frozen.

I'm not able to find any stuff in the event log that looks helpful.

I plugged an external monitor, and that one is not frozen. Only the laptop is frozen. I can move windows in between monitors (WIN+SHIFT+ARROW)

I took a look on this : https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us...-s-freez/9b9b61c0-f684-4d85-b468-edf22b033892 but those steps look like a copypaste from somewhere. Some don't make any sense. I have nvidia 1070, drivers up to date.

Any ideas on how to solve this ? Thanks.

Snipping Tool Win+Shift+S not taking capture and saving.

Hi Daniel, I'm Graeme, an independent adviser here to help.

If your Snipping Tool isn't working correctly, you could try resetting it. Here are the steps to do so:

- Click Start and type "apps & features".

- Select Apps & Features.

- Find the Snipping Tool (or Snip & Sketch) in the list and select it.

- Click Advanced Options

- Click Reset.

After you've done this, try rebooting and using the Snipping Tool again.

Snipping tool freezes in middle of the work

Hello,

My office work station which is Windows 10 enterprise , 64 bit , 3.6ghz board. Everything is fine except snipping tool, since we use dual display with design software multi tasking, snipping tool helps us a lot. Many times i have observed snipping tool getting
freezed and no keys , commands will help for at least 10 minutes. Confiscated design software's which is more than 35gb running will not freeze but snip tool freezes.

Any suggestions to stop this.

 

Windows 10 Snipping Tool on Windows 7

All it is is one extra step beyond what is native to windows 10. Yes, technically it would be easier to have the functionality of print built in to the Windows 7 version, but you just have to save it ,and right click on it ,and print.

As far as getting the windows 10 version into windows7. I know there was a way to get the old winpaint, so maybe there's a way to get the snipping tool into 10, I don't know.
