The ethernet icon is showing in my tray instead of the wifi symbol

As above but everything else seems okay. I'm connected to wifi and that is working okay and it says that I am not connected to Ethernet in the settings. However the Ethernet symbol is now showing in my icon tray instead of the previous wifi symbol. Does
anyone know why this might be. It doesn't seem to be affecting anything.

• What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

For us to resolve this issue, we suggest that you follow these methods:

Method 1: Toggle the system icons on the Taskbar settings.

• On Cortana search, type taskbar settings.
• Choose Taskbar settings from the list.
• Under Notification area, click on Turn system icons on or off.
• Toggle the Network icon.

If the issue persists, proceed to Method 2.

WiFi Icon turned into Ethernet icon after shutting down

May we know if you have made any changes to your device prior to the issue of the network icon changing to Ethernet?

As a first troubleshooting step, we suggest that you run the Network adapter troubleshooter and let Windows find and resolve problems within your network adapter. Here's how to run the troubleshooter:

• Press the Start button, then type troubleshooting, click
  Troubleshooting from the list of results.
• Click View all.
• Click Network Adapter.
• Follow the onscreen instructions to finish the troubleshooting.
