    Windows shows a black screen and when I press the enter key it reboots


    HiI am having issues getting into windows from my computer. I recently had a Blue Screen error while trying to move some of my files from one directory to another. It then crashed and ever since I am only able to access the recovery mode. I am unable to safe boot, as it also does the same thing and just hangs. I am using Linux, so I am able to dual boot ubuntu and windows from my computer.Hope this information helps.Thanks.

    Sounds like the old... windows black screen of death.

    Try this quoted from "VisiHow" article "Repair Windows 7 Black Screen of Death":

    They, also, have some other options there, too.
    Google search and you will find a lot of the "Windows Black Screen of Death with cursor" fixes.

    Just so I'm clear, you said windows is downloading the GTX560 and you have the 960? When I key in either card it comes back to the same driver. Do you have the most recent driver on a USB key.

    You said you were able to enter command, excellent. Could I suggest you try a reboot to see if the Black screen issue was resolved (when you disabled hibernate windows disable Fast Startup).

    If this doesn't work can you boot into safe mode and see what driver version is listed?

    Ahhh, I think that I understand what you are saying.

    On the reference system (the system that you boot into audit mode), you do NOT want to install that unattended.

    You need to boot from your Windows install media and manually step through the installation until you get to those regional settings, then press CTRL-SHIFT-F3 to enter into audit mode.

    Also, just to be clear, this is the regional settings screen that appears after Windows setup has copied files to the hard disk and rebooted, NOT the region selection screen that shows up near the start of setup.
