  1. Windows shows a network with known SSID as a hidden network.

In summary, I have an access point which shows up in Windows WiFi settings GUI as a "Hidden Network" but is NOT a hidden network. I am looking for a way to get Windows to recognize this network via its SSID. The access point uses WPA2-Personal auth. When a Windows machine tried 3 different ones first sees the access point, it shows as a "Hidden Network". When I click on the network, Windows IMMEDIATELY asks for the security key not the SSID. Once I type the security key, Windows properly connects. Once it is connected and I click on the "Info" icon, Windows shows the correct SSID. From thi

Windows 10 not remembering password on hidden SSID (and not automatically connecting). Also previously used (saved) hidden networks do not show the SSID in the wifi list (just says hidden network).

I don't have problems connecting to the hidden SSID network. Windows is not remembering the password (and will not automatically connect to saved networks) if the SSID is hidden. I must manually enter the password every time I restart or shutdown. The
option to automatically connect is selected. Also the network list will not show the name of the previously-known and saved hidden SSID (it just states "Hidden Network").

Windows 10 not remembering password on hidden SSID (and not automatically connecting). Also previously used (saved) hidden networks do not show the SSID in the wifi list (just says hidden network).

After every restart or shutdown, Windows 10 is not remembering the password (or SSID name) for hidden SSID and will not automatically connect to saved networks if hidden. If SSID is NOT hidden, it connects without any issues. I have to manually enter
the password every time. Also once you save and logon to a hidden network, the name of the hidden SSID does not populate in the available networks (it just shows as "Hidden Network"). I have it set to automatically connect to saved networks and have the
latest wifi card driver's, latest router firmware, and windows is fully up-to-date.

In previous Windows (Vista and 8), the laptop would connect automatically to saved hidden SSID's and the name would show in the available networks after it was saved. Are these known issues in windows 10? Is there a fix coming soon (please)?

    Wifi Hidden Network

    Hi,

Win 10 doesn't connect to my hidden network. It shows as a Hidden Network in the available networks list and i have to select it and manually enter the SSiD and password each time. These are getting added to known network list with number appended such as
HiNetwork, HiNetwork 2, HiNetwork 3, but again doesn't connect. Adding the network after deleting all these entries also isnt helping. Just have to enter the SSiD and the password each time!!
