Windows 10: Windows shows third monitor as inactive. Cannot get output on more than two displays.

Hi -I have a new computer running Windows 11 Pro 10.0.22621 Build 22621 connected to 3 identical INNOCN 27m2v monitors via an RTX 4090. Windows appears to detect all 3 monitors, but one of them is always listed as inactive. I am able to change which of the monitors is inactive by toggling settings in Nvidia Control Panel i.e., I'm able to get output on any combination of 2 displays at a time, but I am unable to get output on all 3 monitors.Below is a list of all the troubleshooting steps I've taken thus far.Used DDU to do a complete uninstall and clean reinstall of GPU driversTried connect

I have a new computer running Windows 11 Pro (10.0.22621 Build 22621) connected to 3 identical INNOCN 27m2v monitors via an RTX 4090.

Windows appears to detect all 3 monitors, but one of them is always listed as inactive. I am able to change which of the monitors is inactive by toggling settings in Nvidia Control Panel (i.e., I'm able to get output on any combination of 2 displays at a time), but I am unable to get output on all 3 monitors.

Below is a list of all the troubleshooting steps I've taken thus far.

• Used DDU to do a complete uninstall and clean reinstall of GPU drivers
  
• Tried connecting the monitors using both 3 DisplayPort cables and 2 DP cables + 1 HDMI 2.1 cable
  
• Set all monitors to 4k 60Hz with only 8 bit color (though the 4090 is capable of outputting to up to four 4k 120hz displays at once)
  
• Confirmed the project mode is set to extend for all monitors
  
• Did a clean install of windows
  
• Tried different DP and HDMI cables (but again, all 3 monitors are capable of getting output, just never all three at a time)
  

I've tried to upload screenshots to include in this post but keep getting errors saying "something went wrong" so I can't include them at this time. If possible I will add them in a subsequent post.

 

HDMI output appears inactive

I have a new HP all-in-one "desktop", added second monitor about 3 weeks ago, worked for about a week and then second monitor went blank. Called HP, they walked me thru a "fix" which worked. A week later, same thing. I did their fix and it worked a second time. Happened again this week, fix no longer works. Monitor is good, cables are good, I'm thinking the HDMI output is bad but don't know how to check. Should it show up in device manager as a separate entry under display output? or is it just part of the display output and not listed separately. I don't have another HDMI device to check the output other than the second monitor.

I have used second monitors for 20 years and this is the first time anything like this has happened. HP tech support has NOT been helpful, even tho the PC is under warranty.

 

4870x2 won't display at 1680x1050 at all!

OK. Now I know what ur problem is. Step by step:
1. Go to Catalyst Control Center
2. Click on the word "Graphic" right on top left corner. It will display drop down menu
3. Click on Display monitor and will see the list of monitor at near bottom
4. Right Click the monitor and select "Configure". It will show up the window
5. There will be 3 option to select. Select the middle one and then click on the tab which show the bar with 15%.
6. Drag the bar to max, and the screen will stretch to the native resolution 1680x1050.
7. Also click the tab with showing RGB drop down list and select the last one (it will change to image quality for pc).
