Windows 10: Windows Shutdown without Warning

This has been asked for years and I'm asking again. Why in the world does Windows shutdown computers without warning? I was in the middle of several important tasks and the freaking computer just shut down and I knew it was because of Windows updates. Windows either is annoying with stupid notifications counting down to restart or repeatedly asking if you want to restart now or postpone; or it doesn't warn you at all and just shuts down everything with no chance to SAVE important work or close anything properly.


Here's a solution to your decades old problem: inform that there are updates pending and in the same message inform the user that updates will be made once the computer is shutdown or the restart option is selected. There. That's it. No problem. No constant harassing with the stupid countdown or the weak 4 hour window AND no automatic shutdowns.
