Windows 10: Windows shutting down to "working on updates" every time

Discus and support Windows shutting down to "working on updates" every time in Windows 10 Gaming to solve the problem; Hi, My W11 pc - winver 22621.2134 - Will not shut down.     Windows shutting down to "working on updates" every time


    Hi, My W11 pc - winver 22621.2134 - Will not shut down. Every time I try and shut it down, it will go to Working on Updates and then just stay on that. It's a reasonably powerful machine, and I have left it for 12 hours doing it before. I have tried a few things and am now at the stage where I may need to reinstall Windows to fix it. Is there anything you can recommend?

    Windows Updated(16299.309).KB4088776 Restart is required to complete.

    Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

    Windows 98 and ME no longer updatable...

    Quite right, XP is still listed in technet. Win 98 unfortunately isn't. Windows 3.1 and 3.2 are listed though.

    DTS supported natively by Windows 8/8.1 and it should work on windows 10 too just DDL require to unlock your driver .
