Windows 10: Windows Shutting Down Unexpectedly: LiveKernalEvent 144

I've owned my PC for two years, and have only recently begun experiencing this problem.


At first, my PC was just shutting down during VR games. I'd just be playing, and all of a sudden the computer would just shut off. I thought that maybe it was overheating, but when I play Modern Warfare at max settings, I never experience a sudden crash or shutdown although when I'm playing MW, there is a weird device disconnect sound that happens at random and does not register in my usblogview program. Now it happens seemingly at random, but is likely graphics related. When it happened today, I had two windows open displaying a web game I'm working on. I went to zip the new project files I had just exported, when the computer shut down suddenly.

I am using an RTX 2070. I have the latest graphics card driver from nvidia geforce, and I installed the latest windows updates a few days ago. This is very frustrating, as I can no longer play VR games or have many tabs/windows open without fearing a sudden crash. I'm also worried that each time my computer crashes like this, it's doing small irreparable damage to my computer :

OK, first complete your system specs, as it will help us diagnose your problem. Second, can you be a bit more descriptive about the "shut off"? Does it go through the windows shut down procedure, or does the power just shut off completely?

usually accompanied by loss of internet connectivity via a USB wifi dongle.

I have updated graphics drivers and the MB chipset drivers

can anybody assist or point me in the direction of the offending component?
