Windows 10: Windows Sign-In Alternatives to PIN Windows Hello

Hello community,The background:My windows 11 laptop has been experiencing some BSoD, sometimes several times during one day.It appears that the last time this occurred it probably happened while I was away, presumably multiple times in a short time span.The issue:Recently, attempts to sign-in with my Windows Hello PIN were refused. The PIN was correct! But windows denied access saying that the computer had reinitiated multiple times, and asking for the laptop to remain ON for the next 2 h after which I should try to sign-in again.This is the second time this issue has occurred.Attempts to reso

• Select Accounts.
• Click Sign-in options.
• Click the Add button for the PIN and set your PIN.
• Do the same for the Windows Hello.

Windows Hello and Pin sign on

Hi I am having issues with windows hello and the pin creation. I have two scenarios both of which don't fully work.

I turned on my PC and windows hello which was working perfectly said I need to set up a pin. I could not add a pin, every time I went to nothing would happen so I followed steps to delete the contents of the NGC folder as other forum posts reccomended. I
can now set up a pin which works to sign in. However, when I try to set up windows hello it asks for the pin, which I enter, it makes a sound to say it is correct and then does absolutely nothing.

Alternatively, I can remove the pin and try setting up windows hello. This does start the facial recognition and then asks me to set up a pin which I enter and end the process. However, neither windows hello or the pin is set up next time I try to sign in.

Specs:

HP Envy

Windows version: 10.0.15063 Build 15063

How to set Windows Hello default to FACE not PIN.

I'm running Windows 11 rather than 10 so I can't actually try this, but chat in Bing is telling me to do this: ======================== To set facial recognition as the default sign-in option in Windows Hello, please follow these steps: Open Settings by clicking on the Start menu and selecting the gear icon. Click on Accounts. Select Sign-in options from the left-hand menu. Under Windows Hello, click on Set up for Face. Follow the prompts to set up facial recognition. Once you have set up facial recognition, click on Require sign-in under Sign-in options. Select Never under Require sign-in. After completing these steps, your device should default to facial recognition as the sign-in option. Please note that if you have a PIN set up, you will still be able to use it as an alternative sign-in option. ======================== Please let me know if this helps!
