    Windows Snap

I'm tearing out what little hair I have left! I can't disable the Snap feature in Windows 11. I've set the on-off button in the System/Multitask option to off. I've set the Snap feature in the registry to 0 and I've checked the "Prevent windows....." box in the Make the Mouse Easier to Use section of the Ease of Access Center. What else can I try? Is there more than one place in the registry that might control this function? Windows 11, version 24H2, build 2600.4061, running on a Dell Optiplex SFF 7010. HELP!

    :)

    Snap Assist

    Hi Cory,

The Snap Assist allows you to juggle apps, arrange open windows, resize windows by simply dragging and dropping them to the edges of the screen. If you don't want to get a quarter screen snap, you can change the settings of Snap Assist by follow the steps below:

    • Open the Settings app
    • Click System.
    • Click Multitasking.
    • You can turn off some of the option of Snap Assist on this window.

If you want to disable Snap Assist, you can turn off Arrange windows automatically by dragging them to the sides or corners of the screen.

Should you have further queries, feel free to post it.

  3. Disc management snap in

    Hi

    Welcome to Microsoft community.

It seems like you're having trouble accessing the files on your Toshiba external hard drive and experiencing issues with the Disk Management snap-in. First, let's try to address the problem step-by-step.

    1. Accessing Files on the Toshiba Hard Drive If you're having problems opening files, it might be due to file corruption or the file format. If the files were created or saved on another system, there might be compatibility issues. To check the files, try opening them on a different computer. If the files open correctly, the problem might be with the software on your current computer. If the files still don't open, they might be corrupted.
    2. Disk Management Snap-in Issues The Disk Management snap-in is a Microsoft Management Console (MMC) snap-in. It provides a graphical interface for managing disks and volumes. If it's not working correctly, you might be experiencing issues with the MMC. Here are some steps to fix this:
      • Press Windows Key + R to open the Run dialog box.
      • Type "mmc" and press Enter. This will open the Microsoft Management Console.
      • In the MMC, click on File > Add/Remove Snap-in.
      • In the Add or Remove Snap-ins dialog box, select Disk Management and click Add.
      • Click OK to close the dialog box. You should now see Disk Management in the MMC.
If you're still experiencing problems after following these steps, please provide more specific details about the issues you're facing. This will allow me to provide a more accurate solution.

    Best regards

Snap Assist to top and bottom in portrait mode

I work in Portrait on my desktop and have found an almost-but-not-quite solution building on Eeshwar's suggestion.

    1) Snap a window to one of the corners. For this purpose we'll say you have your notes app and Snap it to bottom-left or bottom-right.

    2) Size the snapped window horizontally to fill the screen

    3) Snap "top" window to either top corner - the window will match the size of your previously-snapped bottom window and fill the rest of the screen.

    This solution has drawbacks:

    1) Extra step - you must resize the initial window after snapping

    2) No official keyboard shortcuts
