    Windows sometimes boots sometimes doesn't normally but always boots when selecting a disk...


    After multiple reinstalls of Windows on SSD it keeps giving me errors :

    • No bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key
    • Boot device not found, Hard DISK (3F0)
    • Device needs to be repaired.

    When I enter the boot manager by pressing F9 during startup. Choosing the "OS Boot Manager - #SSDNAME" results in the system booting properly.

    Changing boot order in bios has no effect since it shows only the SSD name. ( No "OS BOOT Manager " Prefix )

    Any suggestions on how to fix it? Seems like the problem lies on the boot loading part as if it's not being properly detected.

    No it doesnt show. Only my OS drive.

    Its there and it says it running and normal.

    Anyway I just had the same boot problem on reboot. Everything was fine 10 minutes ago. Now it wont boot without my manually selecting the drive.

    BSOD - Inaccessible Boot Device

    The reset save files equivalent if successful should be the quickest method to get you backup and running.

    The backup files then clean install is the best option as you fix many problems and start fresh.

    The command prompt commands are all trial and error.

    hi, new pc builder here. i just built a pc and tried to boot it up with a windows xp disk that came with my old computer. nothing happens, and it may be because i have a crippled disk, that is, maybe it is just a restore or repair disk. in any event, i won't buy windows again until windows 7 is issued and maybe not even then. in an attempt to get the new system to boot up i just ordered an ubuntu linux disk. if the linux disk does not get the pc booted up, what suggestions does the forum have? for background info, i can get the bios without a problem. i also get some memory test screen all the time also (the odd thing about the memory test screen is that it says that the system has a cpu that i definitely did not build the pc with). any ideas from the forum members for getting this system booted up? thanks for your suggestions.
