  1. Windows sometimes will not safely eject Garmin watch

I have a Garmin watch which from time to time I connect to my Windows 11 PC to download activities, or to upload software updates. As far as Windows is concerned, the watch appears as a very small! USB drive, using I believe the FAT file system. Much of the time, when I have finished using it and closed all related applications, I can safely eject it using the taskbar icon in the usual way; however, quite often Windows tells me it is in use and cannot be ejected. Sometimes this eventually clears itself, other times it doesn't or I lose patience!. I can, of course, always shut the machine

    :)

Missing Eject in "Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media" List

    Hi Tze Lin Wong,

The configuration to this can be found under settings. To enable this feature follow these steps:

    1. Right-click the taskbar and select Taskbar settings.
    2. Under Notification Area, choose
Select which icons appear on the taskbar.
    3. Scroll to Windows Explorer: Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media
      and turn it on.

If this doesn't work, I suggest that you check with your USB drive manufacturer for new drivers or other updates.

    All the best.

Not detected by USB port - Garmin

    Hello

I have a Garmin Forerunner 210 which has been driving me insane. It used to work fine and sync perfectly in the start, however it doesnt anymore.

I am using the Garmin Express program to sync as it is supposted to. However, it cannot detect/add my device. Nor can windows. It doesnt enter Mass storage mode, and disk management doesnt detect it either. However, it just goes into charging mode. Device itself works perfectly and tracks HR/GPS etc., but it is not detected as a storage device by the pc.

    Things i've tried.
    - Multiple Pcs with the newest Garmin Express (windows 10)
    - Reinstall/clean install of Garmin Express.
    - Cleaned the watches contacts/connection points etc.
    - Reset/hard reset the watch
    - Garmins suggestion on forcing software mode on the watch. (Turn it off and hold START/STOP while plugging into USB -> Just goes into charging again)

ANY help is appreciated. Comments, suggestions and certainly solutions *Biggrin

Missing Eject in "Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media" List

I use to be able to eject my USB drive via "Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media" with list as below:

    - Open Devices and Printers
    - Eject Data Traveler 111
    - USB Drive (DWindows sometimes will not safely eject Garmin watch :)
    - Eject My Passport Ultra
    - My Passport (EWindows sometimes will not safely eject Garmin watch :)

However recently the "Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media" list seems corrupted and shows:

    - Open Devices and Printers
    - USB Drive (DWindows sometimes will not safely eject Garmin watch :)

    - My Passport (EWindows sometimes will not safely eject Garmin watch :)

with { - USB Drive (DWindows sometimes will not safely eject Garmin watch :) } and { - My Passport (EWindows sometimes will not safely eject Garmin watch :) } are grayed out.

Currently the only way for me is go to file explorer and right click the removable drive and click Eject.

    Please help!
