Windows 10: Windows Spotlight Lockscreen Not Working

    Windows Spotlight Lockscreen Not Working


    Hi,


    I'm having three issues: sfc /scannow, chkdsk c:/f, chkdsk c:/r, and Windows Spotlight Lockscreen are all not working.


    What happened? Basically, I tried System Restore to fix the issue with sfc /scannow and chkdsk, but this caused Windows Lockscreen to stop working.


    1 Yesterday I tried sfc/ scannow in PowerShell, but got the error: 'Windows resource protection could not perform the requested operation'. To fix that, I tried chkdsk c:/r but got another error: 'Chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in use by another process'. I then tried chkdsk c:/f only to get the same error.


    2 I did a System Restore, which didn't fix the issue with sfc or chkdsk, and instead, caused Windows Spotlight Lockscreen to stop working picture never changes and fun facts disappeared. I gave up on fixing sfc and chkdsk, and am now trying to fix Windows Spotlight.


    3 I pressed WindKey+L, and fun facts reappeared. Thinking the issue was fixed, I shutdown my laptop last night.


    4 Turned it back on today to find the lockscreen never changed but fun facts were still there it use to have a different picture everyday. I installed Windows Updates and Restarted, but this didn't fix it.


    5 I followed the instructions to this tutorial:

    M which did nothing, so I restored those files from the Recycle Bin back to their original folder.

    8 which made everything worse now fun facts won't even appear if I press WindKey+L, so again I restored the files.


    Before I make matters worse, can someone here please help me? I don't care about sfc /scannow or chkdsk though I'd like to fix those later on but for now I'd like to fix Windows Spotlight. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    windows spotlight not working as intended?


    windows spotlight works when locking the screen from the desktop. but will not show on the lockscreen when booting up.

    steps taking.

    refreshed system with deleting everything.

    sfc detected no problems

    dism no problems.
