Other user accounts on this machine don't have this problem.Tried a lot of published solution fixes bur nothing helped. Now I found the above thread and was very convinced, that the solution of Jay Chiu renaming/deleting folder %user%\appdata\local\microsoft?

  2. Windows 10 start button doesn't work.

    Hello Adrian,

    Thank you for keeping us posted on the status of the issue.

    At this point, I suggest you to check if the same issue occur when logged in through a different user account.



    Follow the steps:

    • Assuming that you are already logged on to your user account in Windows 10, click the Start button.
    • From the Start menu, click your name from the top of the left pane.
    • From the displayed options click Sign out.
    • From the login screen, click to the different user account you want to switch to.


    However, if you do not have a separate user account, I suggest you to create another administrator user account by referring to the Microsoft article here: Set

  3. New Local Account Not Working In Windows 10

    Hi Scott,

    This issue could have happened due to corrupted profile on your Windows 10. We suggest that you delete the non-working profile on your PC and try to register it again.

    To delete your non-working account, we suggest that you follow these steps:

    • Click on the *Start menu**. It's the Windows logo in the bottom left of your screen.

    • Click on Settings.

    • Click on Accounts.

    • Click on Family & other users.

    • Click on the account you wish to remove.

    • Click on the remove button.

    • Click on the Delete account and data button.

    We also suggest that you follow the steps on this

    to create a local user or administrator account in Windows 10.

    Try the following suggestion and check if it helps:

    Perform Start up Repair.

    Follow the steps mentioned below to perform Start up Repair:

    • Right click on the start button
      and select Shut Down or Sign Out.
    • Next keep Pressing SHIFT button and click Restart.
    • This will open the boot options.
    • Next select Troubleshooting.
    • Select Advance options.
    • Select Start up repair and follow the onscreen instruction
