Windows 10: Windows Start menu changed & Dialogs don't refresh properly

HelloI've just done a clean Windows 11 installation only to find that the Start menu has been changed to have the Settings icon along the bottom, rather than the left hand side, But worse, the popups such as System > Display now look like:Moving the mouse pointer around momentarily reveals some of the hidden menus:And apps such as Notepad, no longer have the menus:Is anyone else seeing the same ? This was straight after a clean install.So Ive now got the following:I've done the usual sfc /scannow , etc... but no improvement - its looking like somethings been released....How can I undo this

WarRock 3D Detection don´t works

Hello Guys,

i had a problem with my Card. The card didn´t wanted to change in 3D Modus. Ok now i removed the other 2 Pins and now it runs in 3D Modus in 3DMark06 too. The Card is a HD 2900GT. But my Game WarRock don´t runs in 3D Modus. Is there a List where i can start the game in 3D Manual? Because in Automatic it don´t want start because the Card don´t see that it is an 3D Game. Can someone help me?

 

Can open Start menu but can't search

Hi @Lemmers. You can most probably fix this through turning off cortana and bing.

1. Click *Start + R to open run
2. Type regedit
3. Navigate (in address bar) to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Search
4. Right-click the Search icon and choose New > DWORD (32-bit) Value. Name the new value BingSearchEnabled
5. Double-click the new BingSearchEnabled value to open its properties dialog. The number in the “Value data” box should already be 0—just ensure it’s still 0. Click OK to continue
6. Below BingSearchEnabled, you should see CortanaConsent. Double-click this value to open its properties dialog. Change its “Value Data” box to “0”.

If you don’t see CortanaConsent, create it by following the same steps you used to create BingSearchEnabled. After restarting computer let me know how you get on. - *Smile

Thanks for your reply.

The steps for Problem #1 look way too complicated for me. I am a simple user and don;t see why I should have to go through all of this bother because Windows 10 does not work properly. It should be down to Microsoft to fix.

For Problem #2 I tried the steps you suggested but when I did the PowerShell action it resulted in a load of red error messages which mean nothing to me, and I still do not have a start menu.

I really want to go back to Windows 7 but with the steps you suggest i can't do this because i cannot get into Settings (these are accessed viw the start menu which i cannot access! AAAARRRRRRGGGHHHHH.

Do you have another way of reverting to Windows 7? I upgraded to Winwos 10 last month and so and worried that i am running out of time/have run out of time to revert.

This is really frustrating.
