Windows 10: Windows Start Menu closes instantly among other things

This is a really weird problem that i have had for a few months now. Sometimes, after my PC is left on for a bit, I want to use my Start menu to open stuff, as I prefer that over clicking desktop icons. If I click on the Windows sign on the bottom left, my start menu appears and then instantly closes. This also happens to any windows opened by right clicking icons on the taskbar.

If i go into the Settings, its like a navigation key on my keyboard is constantly being pressed down, and it constantly selects new tiles. This for example stops me from being able to change my Sound Output, because I cannot click anything, as everything is just constantly being unselected and selected. I tried plugging out my keyboard and XBOX Controller but that does absolutely nothing. The weirdest thing is, that this only happens after a while, when the PC has been left on or used for a long time. When I reboot, it goes away, but only for like an hour.

Is anyone familiar with something like this?

Windows App's And Start Menu instantly close after opening.

Ok,

So my computer was working fine up untill it tried to install a windows update last night (1/12/2016). When the computer tried to restart after the update, it failed to boot up properly. After fightign with system recovery, checkdisck's and a few other
things.. i Finally managed to get the computer back up into windows.

Only, after finally getting to that point, i noticed that:

1) My start menu would not open.

2) My Search Bar (Where Cortana is) would not work.

3) The Notification bar on the right would not open.

Everything else on teh computer worked.... but that. And if i tried to open up 'any' of the "Apps" that come with microsoft... the windows would open.. but then instantly close again.

After looking around online, i found a way to force the computer to open up System restore and resored my computer back to a 1/10/2016 date (prior to that update). After the restore.. the computer booted up properly, but i still have this annoying issue
where i cant use the start menu, and even Windows update (which i found a way to make a desktop shortcut to) instantly closes after it opens up. (it stays up long enough for me to see the icons and 'options' along the left of the window, but it instantly
closes befor i can click on anything.)

Is there a virus or Maleware out there somewhere that could be causeing this?..... Its extremely frustraiting.. as we cant even use Microsoft's website to check for updates anymore it seems =T (was gonna use that as a last-ditch effort to fix things)

I have AVG as an anti-virus... and its not detecting anything wrong.... so im actually at a loss here.. as doing general searches on Google isnt helping me any. Im fairly advanced for a computer user, but this one has me stumped =T

Anyone else out there have this problem?

A friend in a gaming community gave me a link to something called "Classic Shell".. which is overlapping the Windows 10 Start-menu. This is letting me use the start menu again.. but if i try to access any of the 'system' Apps... everything closes/crashes
out (Even the Classic Shell overlay got shut down by whatever is happening and it had to restart itself).

          When you say "If I sign in under my user name I am in some earlier version", which version you are referring to?

          Did you made any recent changes to your computer prior to the issue?

          When you say “I cannot access the start menu and am limited to IP as a browser” Is it refers to Microsoft Edge?
          

As an initial steps, I suggest you to check for the Windows version. To do so, follow the below steps:

1) Login to your computer through user name on which it show earlier version of Windows.

2) Press Windows key + r.

3) Type winver, hit enter.

Windows 10 Start Menu Not Closing
