Windows 10 booted very slowly today and once in, the background starts flickering and I can't click anywhere. I try a system restore but I get error code: 0x80070571. I then try running checkdisk from the prompt before windows starts, but it finds no errors. Same with the /scannow command. The automatic reparation didn't work either.

    Windows 10 Will Not Boot...

Hello. Need help with Windows 10.

Will not boot. I've tried everything in the windows repair, advanced repair.

I've tried to "system restore" to a previous restore point but ends up stalled with an error 0x80070571.

I've tried "resetting my pc" with "keep my files" option from USB and it stalls with an error code 0x80300024.

    Please help.

Hi, can you boot to Safe Mode? (from a power icon on your login screen. SHIFT left click restart etc...)

What is your Windows build number?Windows key + R, winver, if you can boot to Safe Mode e.g.- or at least- are you running the Anniversary build or Creator's?

As you can't use Normal Mode, please download and boot from Kyhi's boot disk at the top of the Software and Apps section.

Run HDTune to check your disk and post a screenshot of the results.
To post a screenshot please use the Insert Image icon above your post to the left of the video icon.

Can you translate the message in your first screenshot? It seems to refer to E: - I'm wondering what the connection might be between system files and E: - any thoughts?

Make sure you also do a check on drive E:

Have you reason to think there's been an update, or can you think of any change leading to this?

  5. 1. I managed to boot to safe mode but everything is blinking fast and I can't click on anything. I can however get the task manager up with CTRL ALT DEL. The Win key + R doesn't do anything.

    2. Win version was Windows 8.1 Swedish 64-bit OEM when I bought it. It's upgraded to Win 10 but I have no idea if it's Anniversary or Creator's.

    3. I created a USB (fat 32) with the Kyhi's bootable rescue disc (extracted it to the formated USB), chose to boot from USB only in the ASUS Z97-A ATX BIOS, but it never started from it. Instead it said "PXE-E61 : Media test failure, check cable"

    4. The info on the E:\ translates to "System restore was interrupted during the check on unit E:\. The unit might be damaged. Unknown error"

    Bootable USB drive:
    Creating a bootable USB drive.

    with thanks to @NavyLCDR
To reliably make a bootable USB flash drive from an ISO file, do this:

Plug the drive into a USB port of a functioning Windows PC.

    Open a command prompt.
    Run diskpart.

Once diskpart is running, enter the following commands in sequence:

    list disk
    select disk #
    - replace # with the actual disk number of the USB flash drive
    clean
    - this will erase the selected drive, make sure it is the USB flash drive!
    create part pri
    format fs=fat32 quick
    active
    exit
    exit

    Then mount your ISO file.
(By default you can simply right click the iso file, and click Mount. However, Mount will not be available if iso files have been associated with a different program).

Copy all the files and folders from the mounted ISO file to the USB flash drive.

(If stuck you can open the iso with 7-zip, a free program).

Reinstall Windows 10 from DVD but no DVD drive[/U][/URL]
    - includes content of flash drive.

I did exactly like that and placed the USB as top boot priority; still didn't read it.
