Windows 10: Windows stops functioning after restart

I turned on my computer today, and suddenly windows won’t run any startup apps, won’t run any programs. As long as I don’t try to run an app, I can explore files, copy and past, delete and rename folders, but as soon as I run a program. It freezes up. I re-installed windows and that seemed to fix the problem until I restarted the computer for a driver install, then it went right back to the same problem as before. I am at my wiAt end. Please help!

Restart function not working

Let us try the following steps, and check if it helps.

Step 1: I suggest you to run power troubleshooter which will tell you if there is something wrong with the power settings.

Follow these steps to run power troubleshooter.

• Press Windows key + X key and Select
  Control Panel.
• Select Troubleshooting.
• Select View All on the top left corner.
• Run Power troubleshooter.

Step 2: Clean Boot.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.
