    Windows stops responding BUT some applications keep working


    Hi guys,

    in my 21 year career of computer science I discovered the strangest bug I have ever seen.

    sometimes when I click to start a program nothing happens anymore. Cursor is responding and running programs e.g. Spotify keeps running and I can even change the song. Chrome also displays loaded tabs but as soon as I open a new tab it keeps loading and loading.

    After a while (some minutes) everything works again.

    I had this on my old pc and changed to my new one and aside from one ssd all hardware is different (windows even installed on another ssd) When I add another ssd or even two more, the stuff described above happens more often.

    Do you have any clue what I could test? Where is the error?

    ...Funny that developers face in their private life the strangest bugs.. is it the same for you?Windows stops responding BUT some applications keep working :D

    Games Stop Responding 5870 HELP!

    try the card in another machine is all i can suggest now. If it works in that one but not urs then obviously the card is not compatible with your motherboard. Last resort is to tell Asus to go suck on donkey balls and get a different make of board

    Windows Updated(16299.309).KB4088776 Restart is required to complete.

    Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.
