Windows 10: Windows Store and Photos crash

Hi,


I have been unable to use the Windows Store and other apps for a while now because they crash immediately on opening. The window just flashes up and then disappears. This means I have been unable to download or update apps from the Store. I have had this problem for almost a year I think, but recently I needed an app from the Windows Store so I tried to fix it.


I tried all methods in this thread.

- cleared windows store cache

- re-registered windows store in powershell

- checked timezone settings

- run sc /scannow


After these methods failed I then reset windows 10, clearing all files and settings, after backing up my files. I have logged into my Microsoft account.


The windows store and other Microsoft apps still DO NOT WORK.


On the reset windows 10 the following default apps are still not working, they crash on launch:

- windows store

- photos

- 3d viewer

- feedback hub

- get help

- maps

- Microsoft solitaire collection

- mobile plans

- people

- skype

- sticky notes

- tips

- weather

Please advise on how I can fix this.

windows 10 photo app crashes after approx 10 seconds

I do appreciate your efforts and time.

Do you receive any error message before crashing?

I suggest you to try the steps below if you have not yet tried.

I would suggest you to reset Windows store.

• 
  Right click on start and select ‘RUN’.
  
• 
  In the Run window, type WSReset.exe and click “Ok”.
  

If the Photos app is the only one crashing, it could be a problem with the Photos app database. To reset the database, perform the following:

1. Press windows button + R

2. Type: %appdata%\..\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Windows.Photos_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState

3. Delete all the contents of that folder.

Photo App Crashes

The latest Microsoft update on 8/28/2015 fixed the crashing problem.

 

all games crash!

I suggest you run rthdribl > http://www.daionet.gr.jp/~masa/archives/rthdribl_1_2.zip
Increase the window size step by step and watch your vga temps permanently.
What happens?
If it crashes, run at stock speeds as suggested before and retry.

P.S.: When your system locks, does the display signal turn off after a time?
Stuttering sound or no sound at all when freezing?
What X1800XT model do you own exactly?
