Windows 10: windows store apps stuck in an update loop and desktop wont load until i kill wsappx

So, after a long hiatus of using windows 10 it was working nice enough and decided to continue using it. after a few days an update happened and made the desktop unable to start normally, i had to kill the process called "wsappx" which seems to be the windows store app manager or somehting, and if i killed it the desktop would work again. I then went back to undo the update but the problem persisted even after uninstalling it, so there probably is something else going on.Also, the windows store and any apps that i had installed from it were stuck in this updating phase without me able to open

Windows 10 Store will not update apps or install new apps

I had exactly the same problem as the original poster and had tried everything I could find...

The store itself was also stuck on an earlier version as it could not check for updates.

Eventually I sorted it by going into task manager and killing "wsappx (2)". It was right at the bottom of the task list, expand it and stop both of the components.

Re-opened windows store and it had magically reset and found lots of updates.

Updated, now stuck in loop, boot in safe mode - no desktop

Windows 10 April 2018 update-

After update stuck on blue screen that asks for keyboard layout and then takes me to Windows Rollback which just keeps looping. Booted in safe mode to a previous version of Windows, but then it says it cannot load the desktop and I get a black screen with
just the recycle bin. No start menu, windows key does not work.

Suggestions?

I suggest that you reset the Windows Store cache as per the below mentioned steps and check:

• 
  Press Windows key
  and R key together to open the Run Window.
  
• 
  Type wsreset.exe
  and press Enter key for the command to execute.
  

If the issue persist, I would suggest you to re-register Windows Store App and check. Please follow the steps:

a. Press Windows key + X.

b. Click command prompt (Run as administrator). type the following command:

powershell -ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register $Env:SystemRoot\WinStore\AppxManifest.XML
