I could really use some hep/guidance if anyone is willing to spare a few minutes - it would greatly appreciated!


My Windows Store and Windows Store Apps won't open/load.

I ran a Troubleshooting report and noticed the following error: Problem with BITS service : The requested service has already been started. More help is available by typing NET HELPMSG 2182.

Windows Store Service (WSService) always stops

Hi Daryl,

As you are facing issues with Windows Store services and unable to download any apps, do not worry we will help you with this issue.

Do let us know if you have made nay changes to the operating system prior to this issue?

Let us try few of the below troubleshooting steps and check if it helps.

Step 1: I suggest you to Disable Proxy Settings

Windows Store apps won't work properly if you are using a proxy server. You may disable the proxy server and check.

Follow the below steps.

• Press Windows Key + R to open
  Run command, type inetcpl.cpl.
• Under Internet Options, go to
  Connections tab.
• c. Click on the LAN Settings button.
• Then uncheck the option Use a proxy server for your LAN.
• Click Apply.

Step 2: I suggest you to try to start the Windows Store service and set it up as Automatic and check if it helps.

Steps:

• Press Windows + R to open Run
  command, type Services.msc and press
  Enter.
• Search for Windows Store service, right click on it and
  start the service.
• Also, set the Startup type to Automatic.
• Now check if you are able to log-in.

Step 3: I suggest you to run the
Windows Store Apps troubleshooter.

Securing Windows 2000/XP/Server 2003 services HOW TO

I will try changing their settings sometime, the one thing I've noticed about this guide is that it doesn't list the Windows services that NEED to be left as local system, so some people might not be too sure what they're doing and worry about any that aren't listed. Just a suggestion that you might want to include in any future revisions. *Smile

The non-default ones I have that you have not listed are:

The problem is that the only ones of these I actually use are The AVG and Windows Defender services and occasionally the "Service Layer" service (related to Nokia PC Suite) and the "Messenger Sharing USN Journal Reader Service" (related to WindowsLive Messenger). Anyway, I'll see how much I can secure those and post back how I get on. I'll try to test it sometime this week just I'm a bit waring of changing the AVG settings because the only way to test if it was still working would be for a virus to be detected... and I' rather I didn't get viruses!

Which service pack are you referring to?

Was there any update installation done after you installed Windows 10?

Follow the steps and let us know the KB number of the latest installed update.

• Type Settings.
• Click Update and Security
• Click on Advanced options under Windows updates
• Click on View installed updates
• Check which is the latest and make a note of the KB number.

Run the SFC scan and check if it helps to fix the issue Store and Apps. Follow the steps :

• Press Windows + X
• Click Command prompt (Admin)
• Type sfc /scannow
• Press Enter

Let us know the status of the issue.
