Windows 10: Windows Store Refusing to Open Windows 10

I have been having this problem for almost 2 months now. I have been on and off trying to find a way to fix this issue and nothing I am trying has fixed my issue at all. I've looked online and combed multiple posts of people with the same or similar issue as myself, and I have been following the answers they have received trying to fix my problem to no avail.


Whenever I attempt to open the Microsoft Store, or any apps that are associated and installed with the Store, the app will appear for a few seconds, anywhere from 2-4, as a window and the app's logo, and then immediately close itself. This prevents me from using a lot of my default apps. I can't even use the calculator. Because it's a microsoft store app. I am BEYOND frustrated.

• I've tried creating a new user account and setting it to administrator, that doesn't work.
• I've disabled my antivirus and it's built in VPN.
• I've ran the Windows Troubleshooter.
• I've made sure that the date, time, and timezone is correct on my computer.
• I've ran Powershell Controls.
• I've ran MSreset.exe.
• I've reinstalled Windows 10 with the iso file
• I've used the Windows 10 Upgrade
• I've used the MediaCreation Tool
• I've reset the app and cleared the cache

And none of the above has worked.


I cannot factory reset my PC, at least not for now anyway. I have programs that I have paid for that I would have to pay for again to reinstall them, and I don't have the money to re-buy the programs right now. So if I can get an answer that fixes this issue without doing a factory reset, I would be extremely grateful.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

As you may already know, Windows 10 (as well as Windows 8) allow you to log in with a valid Microsoft account, instead of creating a local account that only works on your machine. However, you may prefer to keep a local account for privacy reasons. If you do, though, some Windows 10 features—like Cortana—may not work. Despite the default behavior, the Windows 10 Store is not one of them. You can still log in to your Microsoft account for just the Store without switching to a full Microsoft account. The process, however, is not terribly obvious. To do so, follow these steps:

• Launch the Store from your Start menu.
• Click the user icon next to the search box.
• Click “Sign-in” from the menu that appears.
• Choose “Microsoft account” and log in like normal.
• When the “Make it yours” box appears do not enter your password. Instead, click “Sign in to just this app instead.”
