Windows 10: Windows Store will not install apps

I've tried installing multiple apps and The Weather Channel app will go through the motions of installing, but won't actually install (I get the install button again after it says it installed).

For the rest of the apps that I tried installing, I get error 0x8E5E0408.

Any help fixing this problem is greatly appreciated.

We feel that some of your windows store components might have been corrupted leading to such an instance. So please
refer the below steps to troubleshoot your issues:



Step 1: Reset the Windows store cache.



1. Press the windows key + R key.

2. In the run dialog box please type Wsreset.



Hence your store cache will be reset.



Step 2:



If the issue persists refer to the following Microsoft article and check if the issue persists.

Windows Store Apps will not install

Resetting the store via "wsreset" worked.

I was able to install an app that previously always stopped at "Acquiring License" and gave me a totally useless error code. Had tried other fixes like clearing the cache and stopping services but just this simple command fixed the problem and the app installed
perfectly.

 

Store has many dependencies, have you disabled any services or anything in Privacy settings?
By the way Windows Store service is set to Manual by default and does not run, try to start it.

Right click Start - Run and enter - net start WSService - Enter.

 

Tried it with no luck

Now it's not even downloading, it says it's downloading but it is stuck at 0.0MB of X.XMB on all apps I try downloading.

 

By the way, what is your location, Store works best if it is set to United States only.

 

I am in the United States. I just double checked and everything in Settings and Control Panel is set to the United States.

 

I've been getting the same error since installing Windows 10 a couple of days ago. I've waiting patiently in the event it is a server issue, but no luck. Sometimes the error ends in 07 sometimes in 08.

 

I couldn't figure out how to fix it, so I just backed everything up and did a clean install. It is working now.
