Windows 10: Windows stuck in Preparing Automatic Repair

There are two possibilities that I see when attempting to boot:the Asus ROG logo and a spinning white circle that never stopsthe Asus ROG logo and a spinning white circle with the words "Preparing Automatic Repair" that never stops or continues to Automatic RepairThings I've triedRestarting the computer multiple times to try to get to the startup repair menu -- doesn't workbooting from USB drive created with the media creation toolI get two options when bootingUEFI: USB, Partition 1 250.1GBThis option does nothing but go back to the spinning white circleUSB 250.1GBThis option briefly shows

Preparing Automatic Repair

My son's Lenovo Ideapad 110-15ACL has been stuck on "Preparing Automatic Repair" for over a week now. I can't followed any steps listed for remedying it because the computer doesn't respond to any instructions, like holding F8 or even booting from a USB, at all. Has anyone ideas or it's time to discard this 5-year old laptop?

My Lenovo laptop has the dreaded stuck in preparing automatic repair loop

It doesn't get past this.

I have tried holding the power key 3 times but windows repair never starts.

I have tried with a USB installation but I get the windows symbol which go's off to a black screen, then nothing.

Can anyone suggest anything else?

I read through numerous forum issues with the same problem and nothing seems to work for me.

• On which version of Windows 10 is your device running?
• Are you getting any error messages?
• Do you have an installation media for Windows 10 (DVD or USB)?
