Windows 10: Windows suddenly shuts off by itself when I play a game.

When I open up a game. What I notice is that the fan is actually quite loud. After leaving the game open for a few minutes, the screen just suddenly said "locking" and shutdown my laptop. Sometimes it restarts on its own but the sometimes I have to manually press on the power button. After opening it again, the fan starts to be quite load again then slowly became quiet. Yes, I've updated windows, processor, graphics card but the problem is still there. This time I don't think it's about the laptop overheating since it's not that hot, it was a bit warm but it's not hot to the point where it needs to shutdown. It has been happening quite often after I received a BIOS update from HP but I'm not sure if that's the case. Fan speed only increase when playing game and mostly shutdown unexpectedly when playing a game. Although it happened once when I was just browsing.

Windows 10 Shuts down by itself when playing games

Funny how you say that the game might have compatibility issues with Windows 10. I was playing games included in my new Windows 10 download and my system shut down also. (Multiple times!) I have had several shut downs during play on Candy Crush AND the
Windows 10 offered games. I was pretty happy until this started happening. Any suggestions or should I go back to Windows 7 and call it a loss?

 

MSI GT783R laptop shuts down when playing games

hi everone.

for the past week my MSI GT783R gaming laptop have been shutting down when playing games.
after starting a game within a minute or 2, the laptop will shut itself off without warning, then start-up again.
after that it usually shuts off again mid-boot or just after it loaded windows.

a few things i have noticed and tried:
1) it only happens when the AC charger is plugged in, both when battery is hooked to the laptop or not.
2) GPU and CPU temps are below 80c when the shut down happens
3) i already suspected an overheating issue, opened up the laptop, cleaned both CPU and GPU and their heatsinks + fan and applied new thermal paste (Arctic MX-4).
4) tried using a different AC charger, from my brothers GT780DXR laptop.
5) i formatted my pc and did a clean windows 7 64-bit install.

despite all of the steps above the issue yet remains.
i scoured google for the past week with no luck.

Windows 10 Shuts down by itself when playing games

I have been playing different types of games and Bingos and the computer shuts off the game and bingo but does not shut down the computer. How do I fix this?
