Windows 10: WINDOWS SYSTEM CREATED HDD USAGE SPIKES

After tons of diagnostics i was wrongly thinking this is GPU issue but i just changed GPU and problem still exists! HDD usage spiking, short squeaky/creaky sound when at 100%

Hello everyone!

It's been a couple of days since my HDD start making a short, squeaky/creaky noice (definitely not grinding). At first it seemed random, then I noticed it's when the HDD is at 100% usage.

I have also noticed that my WiFi is spiking and was wondering if it may be related to the HDD issue somehow?

The HDD is used purely for storage, I have my OS and software on my SSD.

Model number and Windows version are visible in my specs.

I've done the following:

• ran Hard Disk Sentinel and CrystalDiskMark - both showing 'Good' as a result.
• ran chkdsk - no apparent issues (screenshot attached)
• disabled all startup programmes
• ran windows defender - no issues found

What may be the cause of this?

Audiodg.exe Spikes Cpu Usage

Every 5 minutes or so audiodg.exe spikes my cpu usage to about 50% and any audio im playing cuts out and then comes back a second or 2 later. The video is completely fine and it's not a problem with
my USB Headset. audiodg.exe stays at low cpu usage when it's not spiking.

Solutions I've tried:

1. turning off audio enhancements
2. reinstalling lan, and audio drivers
3. turning off HPET
4. lowering the sound quality in control panel
5. DPC Latency checker (no change when spiking)

None of these solutions work. Please help.

 

Mouse freezes and hdd usage spikes (with WPR files)

Recently, I noticed freezes for brief periods of time during gaming. They always happened when I turned the camera to one or another direction. Aside from gaming, I also noticed the cursor freezing for a very short time every once in a while. The task manager
shows high disk usage (+60%) going along with these occurances. I then restored the system to an earlier point. When the system restore was done and windows booted up to desktop, hdd usage was continuously at 96/97% according to task manager for no apparent
reason. It went back to normal after half an hour.

As suggested by ZigZag3143 I used the performance toolkit to record the freezes. I could not get the in-game freezes recorded that happen only from time to time. But WPR did run while I experienced mouse freezes on the desktop and usage spikes. Those are
the first two minutes of the first recording. Then I started playing a game to produce the freezes that happen at times, without success. The second recording is much smaller and shows the activity afterwards, when the usage dropped to normal and I didn't
notice anymore freezes. CAn anyone tell me what the problem is? Thanks for the help.
