    Windows System Event Log clears itself on computer start-up


    Hi,I noticed something weird in Windows System Event Log Viewer,any time I reboot, shut down manually the computer the System Event Log clears.The first thing showing is:"The System log file was cleared." and the Date and Time is exactly when I power on the PC.I have looked at another pc, it has all it's logs from day one...How can I find out what is the cause?thanks.

    FWIW CCleaner will clear the Event Viewer Logs - just check the box under Windows>Advanced>Windows Events Logs. run CCleaner and it's that simple. Much faster than most ,bat files I've tried. Just a suggestion.

    "Windows Event Log" service not starting

    When I start the "Windows Event Log" service I get the following error:

    Windows could not start the Windows Event Log service on Local Computer.

    Error 15008: The specified xml text was not well-formed. See Extended Error for more details.

    Any suggestion on how to make this sevice work again?
