Windows 10: Windows System Image Cannot, and Will Not Back-up To External Hard Disk!

Why is the Windows 10 operating system not capable of creating a necessary, important back-up of a System Image? What the hell is wrong with you people? Get this necessary command correct! I have a back-up program from my laptop computer's manufacturer that is 5 years old, and it works better! This unreliable, inefficient capability of backing up a System Image cannot stand with Microsoft! It is getting very frustrating to me, because it is the system image that should, in most cases today, must be backed up. I expect better computing from the Microsoft Windows operating system! I have been studying from Windows XP (from 2003), then to Windows 8, 8.1, and now to10; and I also upgraded my desktop computer from XP to Windows 7. I am using Windows 10 on my laptop computer. How is it that the newest, and greatest operating system in the world, maybe the solar system, cannot back up to an external hard drive without having more than a couple of problems? I have been trying to "create a System Image" from my Acer V3 laptop that I upgraded to an SSD, and am using the original hard disk drive as the external disk drive for 3 days, and there are always these bloody error messages! Eventually, I may get a Macintosh. Microsoft Windows may never get it right! I am certain Windows 11 is going to be arriving; and with another problem, and headaches along the way! Can anybody out there figure this backing up of the system image out, so most of us Windows 10 users can get to work, and accomplish more things?

• Were there any changes made on your computer prior to the issue (e.g., updates, software installation)?
• To make sure that we have not missed on anything, what troubleshooting steps have you done so far?
• Do you hear any clicking sound when connecting your hard disk?

External drives and Windows 10 issue

Since you are having multiple issues with Windows 10, we suggest you to run a System File Checker (SFC) and Deployment Image Servicing (DISM) to look into the system for possible corruption. To do so, kindly follow the steps below:

• Press Windows key + X
• On the menu which should pop-up on the lower-left side of your screen, click
  Command Prompt (admin)
• Type the following on Command Prompt (wait for the SFC scan to finish before running DISM):
  
  sfc /scannow
  
  dism /online /restorehealth /cleanup-image
  
  

Check the result of the scans, and if it states that it was able to fix some corrupted files, simply restart your computer to apply the fix and check if the issue persists.

Regarding your external hard disk, we suggest you to update your USB Hard Disk drivers. To do so, follow the steps below:

• Press Windows key + X.
• Click Device Manager.
• Find the disk drive for your external hard disk.
• Right-click your disk drive.
• Click Update Driver Software.
• A new windows will prompt, click Search automatically for updated driver software.
