    Windows system taking longer time for login


    Hello,When employees are powering on the system after shutdown it's taking 4 Min 30 Sec to 5 Min to turn on the system.initially the bitlocker page comes after 1 Min 30 Sec. After Entering the bitlocker password the main windows login page take 2 Min 40 Sec. After entering main credentials system takes 1 Min 55 Sec to show the desktop application.

    Windows 10 remote desktop takes longer time to login first time

    My home laptop is Dell inspiron with windows 7 64 bit enterprise edition ( It came with windows 8, I formatted and installed widows 7).

    My office laptop is Dell with windows 10 64 bit.

    My office laptop is docked in my office. I usually remote connect to my office laptop from my home laptop.

    Our office use sonicwall VPN.

    Nothing changed on my end as far as I know.

    I don't know when it started, when ever I rdp into my office laptop the first time, it takes longer time to login.

    Here is the screen shots of my steps:

    will post the screen shot for step 5 and 6 tomorrow since I already pass through it and it won't happend again today.

    Is there a way to solve this issue?

    Windows 10 takes a LONG time to login

    Was "a couple weeks ago" just after installation of the AU? If so, I'd suggest a clean reinstall.

    Sign-in taking time after setting up PIN

    Hello Harold,



    Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.



    I understand that it is frustrating when the features don’t work the way there are supposed to. Usually, it takes time to login using the PIN after setting it up for the first time, as Windows optimizes and connects all the applications
    linked to your Microsoft account to give access using the PIN.



    I suggest you to try logging in again and wait for some time to let Windows optimize the PIN for next use.



    However, if you want to remove the PIN you can follow the steps mentioned below.



    1. Login to the PC using password, and go to
      Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options.
    2. Under PIN click on
      Remove.
    3. Enter the password and click on
      OK.
    4. Restart the PC.
