    Windows System update won't update driver


    Windows System update keeps trying to install 'Intel Corporation - Display - 26.20.100.7463' but afterwards, I am prompted with a message saying 'A current driver on your PC may be better than the driver we're trying to install. We'll keep trying to install.' I even updated my drivers to the original drivers back in 2019, and Windows still says they are the better drivers ? I also tried clearing the Windows System Cache but no luck there. I don't know how to fix this issue. This problem keeps the ntoskrnl.exe process running which ramps up my laptop fans 24/7 and it's driving me crazy. Any fix to this? I have a Razer Blade Stealth Late 2019 if that helps. Thanks.

    Windows updates won't install!

    I had the same problem when i repaired my O/S, i forgot the steps on how to fixed it, but it is in the microsoft support forum.

    You have to reinstall the windows updater, then restart the updating service.

    NVIDIA Adds Windows 8 to GeForce Driver Update Stack

    AMD may have been the first to be out with drivers for its Radeon GPUs that are optimized for Windows 8 (WDDM 1.2), but NVIDIA went a step ahead of "special-releases" for its GeForce drivers, and added Windows 8 to its update stack, meaning that Windows 8 will feature in the list of operating systems to pick from, to download drivers. NVIDIA will constantly update these drivers along with mainline releases for Windows 7/Vista and XP. The latest such driver is 296.17. This driver supports GeForce and Quadro GPUs, and according to NVIDIA, is a quick-update over 295.73 WHQL, with the addition of performance optimization for Blacklight: Retribution.

    Windows updates won't install!

    I'll check that out.

    I had read that. However the problem MS is addressing there is when the update client files of the pc don't recognise that the pc is not updated and hence don't download the updates. My updates download fine. In fact I'm even getting downloaded updates which I do not need (win2000, vista, server...) The problem is getting the correct updates installed...

    For example, I'm getting KB933729 in my list. That's for Vista!
