Windows 10: Windows task wakes computer from sleep every day at 1:00 AM

cannot modify disable or delete the task "UpdateAssistantWakeupRun" under UpdateOrchestrator. Tried psexec tool without success. Tried taking ownership and granting admin full control of filepath. Am Administrator, run everything as admin still no luck. "the user account you are operating under does not have permission to disable this task". when attempting to uncheck the condition "wake the computer to run this task" the ok button does nothing, can only hit cancel. Am still able to modify other tasks. cannot change anything, even the run time because the ok button does not do anything only for this one task. am losing sleep and very frustrated. uninstalled windows update assistant tool but the tasks still remain.

Windows 10 desktop computer wakes up at the same time every day

Computer wakes up from sleep every day at 08:00 (give or take one minute) on it's own. Computer does not go back to sleep.

• Devices in device manager are not allowed to wake up (mice, keyboard).
• No settings in BIOS/UEFI are set to wake computer.
• powercfg /lastwake results are useless:
  • Wake History Count - 1
  • Wake History [0]
  • Wake Source Count - 0

Any Ideas where to look for problem or find a solution?

windows task wakes up my computer.

I delete it and it comes back every week.

Even if I modify the task, it reverts to normal after approx 1 week

1) how to remove it?

2) what is it for?

Name: shell

Location: \Microsoft\Windows\rempl

Trigger: daily -> at 10:00 every day

Action: start a program -> %ProgramFiles%\rempl\remsh.exe

Wake up the computer to run this task

Scheduled Tasks Not Waking Computer

I appreciate you for providing details about the issue and your effort towards resolving it.

Try the following steps and check if it helps:

• To wake up your Windows computer from Sleep mode at a fixed time, type
  Task Scheduler in Search bar and hit Enter.
• In the right side, select Create Task. A new window will open. Here under the
  General tab, fill in the Name and Description. Also check,
  Run with highest privileges.
• Under the Triggers tab, click New. Another window will open. Select
  One time (or Daily if you want it repeated every day at a particular time). Set the Date and Time when you want your system to wake up from Sleep.
• Next under the Actions tab, you have to mention a task. Click
  New. You can run a simple task, like say, first launching & then closing the command prompt window. This thus will wake your system at the pre-set time to carry out the task.
• Select Action as : Start a program. To schedule a task that executes the command
  cmd.exe with command line arguments, copy-paste under Program/script

/c “exit”

6. Under Conditions tab, check on the Wake the computer to run this task check-box. Click
OK and Exit Task Scheduler. Click OK
and Exit Task Scheduler. Your computer will wake up from Sleep at the particular time.
