Windows 10: Windows Temp Profile but I'm an administrative user, anyone know how to fix this?

Well, the good news is that I got the keyboard working again, so, yay. However, I made another mistake by interrupting the system restore and, from what I can tell, I can't use system restore to fix this, as the control panel, at the moment, looks like this:Relatedly, I've already tried restarting it multiple times, which I think might've made it worse and the other solutions I can't really do, except, change my profile to "Administrators" in netplwiz which is weird af because my profile is already an Administrator profile. Will changing my profile to Adminstrator in netplwiz fix it?As aforeme

cannot undelete the temp user profile - window 10

on 3/17 i accidentally deleted the user bak file in the profile list in registry. I have windows 10.

Now when i log in the compute rit is always on a temp user accoun tacting as the administrator.

All my files are on the computer but they don't show up on the screen because i am logged in temp user account.


my user id is my name. when you log in it keeps loggin in as TEMP.AgnesDonnadieu.000.001.002 TEMP.AgnesDonnadieu.000.001.002.003 or 004

when you go to profile list it shows one file ending with 1000

and profileimagepath shows C:\Users\and my name twice with a period in between and ending by 000 when it should be just my name.

I don't want to restore files i just want to know how I can restore my normal user profile like this when i log in i can see all my files the way they were before.

I am not a developer so please give me simple step by step instructions.

 

How to fix a temp user profile on Windows 10 computer

Hello Laura, not all temp user profile issue can be fixed.

Can you launch your File Explorer, go to C: drive > Users > Your username folder. Then go to Desktop, or Documents, etc to verify if you can see your personal files there. If so, I suggest that you copy them out to an external drive, such as flash drive. It is very important that you transfer them to an external drive, not moving them to your current temp user profile since everything is deleted after restart for temp user profile.

If this happened after a recent Windows update, try this. After you have your data all secured, please hold down the Shift key while you select the Restart option. That should pull up the WinRe environment. Choose Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Uninstall Updates. See if you have two options listed. If so, uninstall one at a time and restart the computer back up to see if it helps.

If not, I am afraid you want to consider a reset in this case.

 

Locked Out of User Profile AND System Keeps Creating Temp User Profiles - I Have 10 Temp Files Now!

Yesterday, I was trying to share a folder with another user and inadvertently did something incorrect to my own user profile. As a result, I am now locked out of my user profile, I cannot find ANY of my files/folders (they are all showing empty). Every time I log in I get the message "We can't sign into your account" and each time a TEMP Account is created I am now up to 10 Temp profiles.

I have searched online for 2 days trying to find help I have tried these multiple times:

• Safe Mode
  
• Created a Test Account Profile (still no access files/folders) - shows "empty" on C:
  
• Removed BitDefender Anti-Virus
  
• Disabled Microsoft Defender Anti-Virus
  
• Tried whoamI CMD found SID
  
• Registry Fix - multiple times; This is where I am stumped.
  
  • I can only access from temp profile - which one is valid?
    
  • should I delete the temp profiles? If so which ones?
    
  • I tried to delete one and it seemed quite large (15,000 files - but nothing I can open)
    

I have no idea where to go from here - I've watched videos and followed several suggestions but none of them addressed both issues with being locked out of user profile AND multiple TEMP users being created.

I desperately need to recover my user profile -more than anything I need ALL my files! Please HELP!
