Windows 10: Windows ten "No Bootable drive found,"

So, i was trying to help a friend out with their hp stream, it was too low on space, and windows would not update, even with an external drive.

So i came up with a idea, he could use the external drive as the main boot drive.

so i cloned the os to the external drive, and it worked the first few tries, but afterwards i decided to reset the entire pc and hard disk drive, because he wanted to start fresh without the computers company apps installed onto it, so i performed a clean install of the os, and after i cloned the os again, it didn't work, i selected the external hdd in the boot option f9 menu and it said "no bootable device found, plugin a bootable device and press any key", so i unplugged the external drive, and then plugged it back in, and it didn't work, i plugged it in to my main pc to check, and file explorer allowed me to check the files, so what i'm thinking is something went wrong when cloning it, but I'm not sure.

things i tried already:

- enabling legacy mode.

- making sure its formatted to the right type, the one other then fat32.

- putting the usb options above the normal boot.

- making sure boot from usb is enabled.

I don't know what to do, this was the first time it happened today, this was also the first time i had to try making it boot to an external hdd, which is a proccess 10x harder then an internal one.

As i said before, its a hp stream, with 32gb emmc, the reason i wanted to do it, is because most apps he works with only support 64-bit, as i know the cpu is 64-bit. if anyone knows what to do, i would be glad for some help with this problem.

p.s, i used the media creation tool to perform the clean install, dont know if that could be it.

Ipod bootable drive?

I want to know if I can make my ipod a usb bootable drive.. will it mess up my ipod? I need to flash my video card back to normal.. Neros bootable cd gave me an error. I used a step by step guide, but thats another story.

 

Multi-bootable USB

Hey guys from TPU, couldn't find any specific thread pertaining to the question asked on title. As mentioned, I'm trying to create a bootable USB, but with many specifics boots available.

I've been trying to create one with multiple boot device including one that enables me to run Windows 10 directly on the USB Thumb Drive but to no avail.

The list of bootable images i'm trying to create are

1. Windows 10 (A full OS running from thumb drive)
2. Windows 10 ISO (Bootable disk image for fresh install)
3. MemTest86+

Have tried YUMI or UUI from the website USB PenDrive Linux but as this is my first time, i don't know how am i screwing up or am doing it right.. Anyone got a rough idea on a step by step guide? Thanks!

 

third sata drive not bootable ?

Exactly. On the where do you want to install Windows screen, it has the list of all 3 drives, but when I choose the new drive is when it says it cannot install because the drive is not a bootable drive. If I select one of the other drives with XP installed it doesn't give that message.
