Windows 10: Windows thinks C Drive is full even after deleting Microsoft Store game

Basically Halo had been secretly updating for months, ate up 100+ gigs, and I got around to deleting it finally. But Windows still thinks my C drive is practically full. Using WinDirStat it clearly shows I have plenty of space left, but Windows still thinks the drive is full. Running out of ideas, anyone got any advice?

C windows installer folder - Delete?

He can do symbolic link redirection and move the files in it to a different location. *Wink
Better try it out in a virtual of first. Just a suggestion.

Like:
First move everything in c:\windows\installer to d:\installercache
Then delete c:\windows\installer folder
Then type this in command mode as admin
mklink /d c:\windows\installer d:\installercache

Removing those installer files is a bad idea. it might prevent you from updating or uninstalling apps.

 

Using games from the microsoft store

Based on the results you've obtained, this can be an issue with the Windows Store which affects the digital games you’ve downloaded from it. We suggest manually resetting the Windows Store cache. Here are the steps:

• Press the Windows + R keys to open the Run dialog box.
• Type WSReset.exe and click OK.
• The Store and a command prompt will now open with any message. The command prompt will automatically close after the Store's cache has been reset.
