Windows thinks "USB Video" capture input device is "Audio" instead of "Camera".

I am trying to use a USB video capture device on my laptop. Windows finds the device but under Settings...Bluetooth & Other Devices it shows the "USB Video" capture under as "Audio" input only. In the Device Manager it shows the the "USB Video" under Cameras. When I open the USB Video device properties under device functions it includes both audio inputs and cameras. When I try to add the video capture device in OBS it doesn't see it because it thinks it's audio only. Can someone please help me figure out how to get windows to recognize this device as video/camera so that OBS recognizes

    :)

  2. Video and Audio Capture

I am using Windows 10 64 with latest update. I am using Cyberlink Power Director 15 and Honestech capture and production software. Last year the software worked just fine. Now I cannot capture any video/audio. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the
software. Immediate after I got video, but no audio. Then on retry, back to no audio or video. Is there a button in Windows that I need to select/change? I would appreciate any comments or suggestions. Everything seems installed properly. I verified
signal input to the capture devices: convert VHS to USB signal. As I said I did get one video signal input.

Problem with USB HDMI video capture device

I have a USB HDMI capture device that I have used in the past to capture stuff onto my main PC from live streams etc off a separate laptop. (My son is in a band and sometimes live streams from shows are streamed) The device used to show up in programs like NCH Debut and Corel Video as a webcam and I had no problem capturing the stream. For some reason neither the device nor my webcam no longer shows up. The device does show up in device manager under cameras as USB video Under Privacy settings the “Allow desktop apps to access your camera” is selected and Debut and another video editing program show up as having previously used the camera. I think I have enabled the webcam to be accessed in my anti-virus program (AVG). Corel gives the message “Unable to switch to Capture Mode, Check if your video capture driver is working properly” (under Device manager Cameras – USB video This device is working properly). Debut says “Failed to connect to device” after selecting webcam as source OBS sees the capture device fine so the device is working and I can use that if needed I’d rather use Debut or Corel for the capture if possible. Thanks in advance PC is W10 version 22H2 (OS Build 19045.2604)

As far as mfg and model info of the device, In have 2 but they are both fairly generic from Amazon (got the 2nd I as I thought inncorectly that the 1st one was faulty) This is the first one :- DIGITNOW! Audio Video Capture Card, Full HD UP to 1080P HDMI to USB 2.0 Live Video Recorder Game Capture Card for Live Broadcasting, High Definition Acquisition This is the second one :- Papeaso Video Capture Card, Video Recording Card Wonderful 4K HDMI to 1080P USB C for Gaming Streaming TV Recorder, for Windows Mac OS System with USB C Adapter to Adjust PS4, Switch, Xbox1

    - - - Updated - - - Update on this issue, I have now come to the conclusion that it is NOT the USB Capture devices that are causing the problem. I have unpluuged capture device and just plugged a couple of webcams in which are both working fine with the Windows camera app, but not working with the capture software which they should do. Suspect it may be either my ant-virus (AVG) or a setting in Windows itself that is causing the issue, thought I had covered those options but looks like I have missed a setting somewhere, will try again tomottow.
