Windows 10: Windows to Go vs Windows 10 Home

    Windows to Go vs Windows 10 Home


    I am trying to "reset" an old computer that has Windows 10 Home running, but when I try to run the "reset everything" my computer tells me that it can't reset because I am running Windows To Go.


    First of all what is Windows To Go and how or why does my system think it is running that? When I go to Settings/System/About it shows I am running Windows 10 Home. I find Windows To Go information in a search of my files on my computer as well as a search of the Registry Editor.


    Can I get rid of it or is it somehow a part of Windows 10?


    Any guidance is appreciated.

    Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

    Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
