Windows 10: Windows turns off network adapter WOL not working

Hi,I'm having an issue with the network adaptor on my motherboard.As far as I can tell, I should have everything setup properly for WOL to function.When the machine goes into sleep mode, WOL works fine.If I turn off the PC by holding down the power off button, WOL works.If I turn off the PC by clicking shutdown, I can watch the lights on the switch port the PC is connected to, and see that the network adaptor gets turned off as the lights go out, and WOL does not work.Once the machine is off, if I unplug the power, give it a few seconds and reconnect it, the network lights turn on again and WO

When I shut down PC, Windows turns off network adapter and it can't be woken with WOL

Intel(R) 82567LM-3 Gigabit Network Connection

I configured settings in BIOS

Disabled "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"

Disabled "Turn on fast startup (recommended)"

Installed latest driver

When I use Ubuntu and shut down PC, WOL works

When I use Windows 10 and shut down PC, WOL doesn't works

I spent hours trying things people posted on forums, but nothing works for me

What can I do to make it work?

I enabled MBEx in BIOS just to see what it does.

And I found this:

was on "(*) Desktop: ON in S0"

And I changed it to: "ON in S0, ME Wake in S3, S4-5"

Now when I shut down PC, lights on network adapter stays on.

Now I can WOL from sleep (S3) and hibernate (S4)

After shutting down by holding power button, shutting down from Ubuntu or turning PSU off and on, WOL works (S5)

Still, when I shut down PC normally on Windows (Start=>Shut Down), I can't wake it.

Lights are on, but WOL not working.

Hey!!!

I was just going around in circles in a very similar situation (Linux -> WOL OK, Windows -> NO WOL), and finally found something that helped me!

I have INTEL internet adapters and they were working great, but I found out that the drivers I had were from Windows and not the most updated ones from INTEL. After going to INTEL's website and getting the latest drives and installing, I FINALLY could see the
options under power management to "Enable WOL on S5 power off state" which was not there before! After enabling this it worked perfectly!
