Windows 10: Windows update 1903. How long should the initialising stage take?

Discus and support Windows update 1903. How long should the initialising stage take? in Windows 10 Installation and Upgrade to solve the problem; I got the option to update my windows to version 1903.     Windows update 1903. How long should the initialising stage take?


    I got the option to update my windows to version 1903. Should the initialising stage take long? Can I cancel the update? Should I just let it run?

    1809 Update Stuck on Initialising

    I have an HP laptop (I3 processor 4MB ram - Kaspsersky anti virus turned off for the update currently on Windows Version 1803 - OS17134.471). The 1809 Feature Update has started but my update message has said it is initialising for over three hours. (
    I have a very slow internet connection of 1.8 Mbs). The router lights suggest something is happening but this seems very long compared to previous big updates which usually initialise quickly and then take ages to download). Do I need to be patient or is
    something wrong?

    Windows Update 1903

    Hi Greg, I allowed Windows to "download and update" 1903 again and selected the update to proceed that was staged. The process essentially behaved as if it was installing 1903 first time but moved through each step very rapidly. Finished in approx 10 minutes
    including restart (only 1) and it seemed to "detect" Windows 1903 was present and complete (for lack of better words). No error messages.

    All the Windows status screens are correct now. Laptop is working fine. Much appreciated.

    Windows update 1903. How long should the initialising stage take?

    Autoplay -Open Device Stage

    I have a camera.
    For this camera Windows 10 "Auto play" is set to "Open Device Stage" which is run when this camera is connected via USB cable and then turned On.

    With Windows 10 version 1809 the camera app is listed on the Task bar then runs and saves pictures from the camera to a folder on the computer. This is exactly what I expect and want to happen.

    Unfortunately, with Windows 10 version 1903 the camera app loads and then a Microsoft pictures app runs (both apps are shown on the taskbar).

    Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get Auto play to run the camera app and not the Microsoft pictures app?
    The only solution I can think of is to just return to Windows 10 version 1809 until version 1903 gets fixed.
