    Windows update and changed the internet settings on my desktop and now nothing is working....


    On the 15th Feb windows updated and changed the internet settings on my desktop. Internet and emails would not work. I tried a number of things and nothing worked. I then uninstalled the update that occurred on the night. KB5022834. As soon as I rebooted my computer. Everything was normal; my email was coming through and the internet was working fine. Then the system did another update and nothing is working again. I now can not uninstall the update. Nothing is working. Any suggestions?

    Hi Cindy,

    Thank you for the tips. I will work through the list of suggestions.

    Rebooting the modem did get the network 4 back. The update changed it to network 5.

    Because I can not get the internet connection working ( It is connected to the internet).

    I can not try any of the other options, like Troubleshooting, updating drivers, get onto website support pages.

    I am on my work laptop now.

    I will try what I can from your suggestions. Thank you.

    To turn off windows updates in windows 7 follow these steps:

    Click the start button, in the search box type in 'windows updates', click on 'windows update'
    in the search results list, in the left side of the windows update window click 'change settings'
    then in the option bar select 'Never check for updates'.
