Windows 10: Windows update and Microsoft Store all stuck at 0% forever

Windows 11. Nothing seems to be working. It all worked perfectly before, but Windows update failed to install since 2025, when I try to download manually, it has 0% without any progress. Almost at the same time, the Microsoft store failed to download anything as well. It will just stuck at "getting files ready" state forever. Not sure what's the problem. Anyone please help?

Downloading updates stuck at 0%


Hello everyone, Windows Update has been stuck at 0% every time I've tried in the last couple of days (see screenshot). These are the two updates available:

• Security Update for Internet Explorer Flash Player for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3103688).

• Cumulative Update for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3105213).

Hi everyone,

I'm having a very weird issue with my Windows Store and also Windows Update. Windows store is stuck on "start download", while Windows Update stuck at 0%. I have tried many things to fix it, and none have worked.

Here what I've done so far:

• Tried using "net stop wuauserv>cd %systemroot%>ren SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old>net start wuauserv" in command prompt
  - but same issue still occured
• Tried "WSReset.exe" - Didn't do anything to solve the issue.
• Tried using "Troubleshooting" for windows update and windows store - It says fixed, but I still have same problem
• Tried "Clean Boot" and perform all the step above - Still nothing

I used windows 10 pro version 1703. Can anyone help me?

 

Microsoft Store stuck at Pending on Windows 11

Same issue - new W11 machine. Store is completely stuck. All updates just stuck "Pending" forever. None of the steps described fix this.
