Windows 10: Windows update and Reset issue

I've been having trouble updating my Windows 11 Pro for several days. The update gets stuck on the downloading page. When I tried to reset my PC, I received an error saying the reset wasn't possible due to something about expired or modified file certificates. Even live chat support couldn't resolve it, and they recommended contacting an advanced team. I'm now seeking any advice or suggestions to resolve this.

If your wireless router has a built in firewall maybe it's somehow set to block the ports that Windows updates use?

I'd also suggest if it works with it being directly connected then you could try resetting your router to see if this fixes the issue.

It works, but I still need to fix it so that way I dont have to plug computers directly to the modem to get windows update to work. It was also blocking me from installing directx.

When you finish testing the Avast suggestion, make sure that you restart your machine.

Then if the issue persists, please return to the trouble shooting list in post# 89

I think there are three steps that remain; the WU troubleshooter, reset WU components, and manual WU reset.
