Windows 10: Windows update aparantly renderd my explorer searches useless...

Hello,


Anytime I now search for a file in any directory the results show a "PC desktop" looking ICON for all my files.


If I click on any of the identical looking icons nothing happens, nada.


Please fix this mess! I now have to search for my files by hand every time.


Who asked you to break it in the first place???


Looks like the old windows update screw up crews are back?



Going to start billing Mr. Gates by the hour, starting with this post @ 15 minutes wasted.

File Explorer Search Not Working


I am trying to search in File Explorer (Windows Explorer, My Computer) and it will not find anything. I can copy text from a name in the list and paste it in the search box and it still finds nothing. I have looked at the suggestions that have been posted and nothing I find that is relative to this works. Anyone have any suggestions? I am running Win 10 Pro on an I3 coustom desktop computer.

are you running IE7? if not that wouold be my first suggestion,upgrade to ie7 that can fix some stability issues with windows explorer

• Open the File Explorer and try to search for files.
• In the toolbar, open the View tab and click List
  to change the view.
• Once changed, close the File Explorer.
• Open the File Explorer again and try to search to see if the setting has been retained.
