    Windows Update asking for email password after updating


    Once again a Windows update breaks my PC, this is every second or third update I lose a hard drive, damage a CPU/GPU or have to reinstall Windows, but this time after going through a FULL Windows setup after updating, which I only had to do 2 weeks ago, it is asking me for the password for my Gmail account, which it is saying is wrong even after I signed in using it on my other PC, also If I try other options it asks me for me Windows password which it also claims is wrong when it is not, even after resetting it, and logging in once again on my other PC.Any fix?

    No It didnt appear in my spam box but I updated to Windows live Messenger which sent the confirmation email and also verified windows messenger. Ty everyone for there suggestions

    Windows Update suddenly hangs?

    Windows Update is suddenly hanging for some reason... I went and downloaded and installed the first bunch of updates, restarted when asked, and now when I go back to windows update I just get the window with a white box forever. Reboot and it still does it. This happens to be on my main machine, running windows 7.

    I've also noticed when I reboot it says configuring windows update, step 3 of 3, 47%. Maybe it somehow skipped something and is screwed forever?

    Just experienced this myself. I wanted to download the update because this is a massive problem and fresh installs of Windows 7 are still in my future. I don't have a problem using IE11 but...
    1. I add the download to my cart.
    2. Click on basket.
    3. Click on download.
    4. Window pops up asking to browse for folder.
    5. Click on it, UAC pops up demanding admin password. "No problem," I thought.
    6. Enter admin password. Nothing happens.
    7. Close window and repeat steps 3-6. Getting frustrated now.
    8. Right-click and select refresh.
    9. Repeat steps 4-6.
    10. WTF?
    11. Come to the sad realization I'll have to sign off and sign in as the admin account just to download a file.
    12. Give up.

    Terrible indeed. I'll have to do it eventually though. *Frown Windows Update asking for email password after updating :(
